ABOUT PROJEKTS MCR
Founded in 2004, Projekts Skatepark is a community-run, not-for-profit skatepark beneath the Mancunian Way flyover in central Manchester. Built by skateboarders and supported by our community, funders and local council, we’ve created one of the UK’s leading skate spaces — a 1,400sqm concrete park welcoming skaters of all abilities.
Alongside the skatepark, Projekts is home to a café, community spaces and one of the UK’s largest school skateboarding programmes, introducing thousands of young people to skateboarding in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment.
SKATEPARK OPEN SESSIONS
Open sessions are uncoached and open to all abilities. Beginners are welcome — but if you’d like a supported start, try a coached community session or book a private lesson first.

PROJEKTS ACCESS FUND
Projekts MCR run a scheme to subsidise entry fees for children whose parents are on universal credit. This aims to give children access to the skatepark who wouldn’t otherwise be able to do so.

VENUE
If you’re looking for a distinctive venue for your next event, our space offers a unique urban setting beneath the Mancunian Way flyover. We’ve hosted concerts, theatre performances, marketing events, and skateboarding, scooter, and BMX competitions and demos.
LOCATION
Located beneath the Mancunian Way flyover in central Manchester, Projekts Skatepark offers a striking indoor skatepark location with a raw, industrial aesthetic. Exposed concrete, dramatic under-bridge light, and a flexible layout make it well suited to film, TV, fashion, music videos, and photography.
THE BOARD ROOM
Our Board Room at Projekts Skatepark offers a characterful meeting space in central Manchester, set beneath the Mancunian Way flyover. With natural light, flexible seating, and a calm, professional atmosphere, it’s well suited to board meetings, workshops, interviews, and small off-site sessions, with access to on-site facilities and refreshments.
SKATEPARK
Our private lock-ins offer exclusive night-time access to the skatepark and are ideal for birthday parties. Sessions can be tailored for kids or adults, so whether it’s a 5th or 50th birthday, we’ll help make it a night to remember.

Each party can have up to 15 participants, all participants must be aged 5 and upward.
WHAT’S INCLUDED:
- 45-60min skateboard lesson in the flat ground area of our skatepark and 15-45 min free skate in the area of the skatepark
- 30 mins in the upstairs cafe area for food and celebrations (Please note we are unable to provide food but you are welcome to bring your own or order in!)
- All equipment is provided.

SKATEPARK
A perfect combination of street, transition and flat ground located in one of the most unique environments in the UK; nestled underneath the Mancunian way flyover just outside Manchester city centre.
CAFÉ
Our friendly & independent cafe is the heart of our community and an ideal spot to sit and relax while enjoying the greatest coffee in the city. We serve the best quality homemade food & drinks and cater for everyone. Make sure to try our freshly baked cakes made by our talented team.
BOARDROOM
Situated above the Cafe, with a spectacular view of the skatepark. It is available for bookings all year round, as a private or shared space, and can be hired to host meetings, training days, birthdays and other events!
ACCESSIBILITY
Projekts MCR is fully wheelchair accessible throughout the facility. With a disabled access toilet on the ground floor and a platform lift to access to the upstairs seating area and balcony viewing platform.
PROJEKTS CAFÉ
On site at Projekts we have a wonderful Café where we sell artisan, locally roasted coffee and homemade cakes and bakes.

A LITTLE HELP TO
FIND US
BY TRAIN / TRAM
Projekts Skatepark is literally 300 metres from Piccadilly Station, which will take you about 60 seconds on a skateboard. If you come by train or tram you’ve chosen well!
Head towards the rear entrance of Piccadilly Station, down the escalators (two sets) and walk out towards the large crossroads between Fairfield Street and London Road.
Head down London Road in the opposite direction to the City Centre. You’ll see the Marriott Hotel on your left, then the skatepark a little further on, under the Mancunian Way flyover.
BY BUS
If you’ve come by bus, head towards Piccadilly Station. Travel around the station, down the A6 (London Road) and keep going until you get to our skatepark (see directions above for more details)..
BY CAR
The entrance to our skatepark is on a street that can be a little bit tricky to access. We recommend that you take a moment to look at the directions before making your way.
The best way to access the skatepark by car is to come from Fairfield Street, turn on Travis Street round the Mayfield Depot then turn left on Baring Street (M1 2PY). All the way down, turn right and here we are.
PARKING
There is a parking bay along the skatepark but the places are very very limited. However there is a Pay & Display across on Baring Street (M1 2PY).
Alternatively, there are a number of parking places near the skatepark including; Travis Street, Ardwick Green North, Grosvenor Street.
